FAQ
Can I use these signs for non-medical biohazards like chemical spills or radioactive materials?
These templates include the universal biohazard symbol but are designed primarily for biological risks. For chemical or radioactive hazards, you’ll need signs with the appropriate NFPA diamond or trefoil symbols. Always pair the correct symbol with your hazard type to ensure clarity and compliance. Check local regulations for specific requirements.
How do I ensure the text on my biohazard signs meets OSHA or CDC guidelines for readability?
OSHA recommends using high-contrast colors (like white text on a red background) and a font size of at least 1 inch for the biohazard symbol. These templates are pre-formatted to meet these standards, but double-check your local regulations for any additional requirements, such as language specifications or additional warning text. Print on durable, weather-resistant material if signs are outdoors.
Are there templates that include Spanish or other languages for multilingual facilities?
The collection includes basic biohazard symbols that are universally recognized, but text within the templates is primarily in English. For multilingual settings, you may need to manually add translations or use a bilingual template from a specialized safety supplier. Always ensure any added text complies with workplace safety signage laws in your region.
